A friend of mine and I were stopping overnight in Newcastle to watch a rock show. We woke up to get something to eat before the 7-hour drive north to Byron Bay. We found this place and we were not disappointed!
I got the Big Breakfast and it certainly was big! Everything on the plate was fresh - the greens, eggs, bread and bacon. I also ordered a chai latte with my meal, and it was put of this world. Great way to start morning.
If I'm ever back in this area, I would definitely make another stop here!

Good variety and quality of food however they were out of many things, bacon, orange juice etc. My friends poached eggs were cold and the iced coffee I got was very watery however my toastie was delicious!

When it's Friday morning and you don't want to go to work and you feel like a coffee with a top feed, this is the place to come. Or at least that's what I was thinking.
Friendly service delivering top notch coffee with plenty of outdoors seating to sit and watch the world go by. The big breakfast was tops as well. Plenty of variety with the ingredients and chorizo. I love chorizo!
Work be dammed, I made the right choice. -

When you drink coffee made by people who roast it and are passionate about it, you don't like to drink just any coffee, which makes finding a place other than your usual is a perilous journey. Ground Floor cafe meets all the requirements for atmosphere and presentation when assessing your options so I thought it might be worth the risk .... and I have been pleasantly surprised!

This was a fantastic venue for a lazy saturday catch-up with friends. The food was magnefic, crisp, fresh and tasty. their coffee was excellent and the wait staff were prompt and helpful. Everyone left happy and content. Very clean.
The particular strenghth of this cafe is its ornately decorated "hipster sheik" fit out, it is contemporary, crisp and elegant. An enjoyable experience and open cafe. The food did take a little longer than i would have expected, but it was worth the wait. A Great place for the weekend hang, and coffee.
